Glassing - What is it?

Glassing - What is it?

  • Glassing is a term used to describe watching animals with binoculars or a spotting scope.  As a hunter and especially as a guide it is critical to learn the patterns of the deer during each part of the season. Some are glassing to spot an elk or deer to stalk and hunt. Most of my time is spent glassing to learn patterns and find older mature bucks for hunters we are bringing in to hunt.  It is typically early morning and late evening when deer movement peaks as deer are moving from feeding to bedding or vice versa.
